Experience for EGR
I am an educator, parent and community leader committed to an engaging, high-quality, and inclusive educational experience for all EGR students. I was appointed to the EGR School Board in January 2023 and currently serve as Secretary. I hope to have your vote on November 5th so I can continue my service to our EGRPS students and educators.
As a former classroom teacher and current faculty member of Western Michigan University’s College of Education and Human Development, I am the only educator currently serving on the Board, bringing a unique and important perspective to the challenges and opportunities our district faces.
My Priorities
Teaching and Learning
As a teacher educator I’ve seen the value of peer-to-peer mentoring and robust professional development, as well as the impact both have on student learning. I will continue to encourage our district to build a professional culture where teachers are valued and know that the community will invest in them.
Whole Child
I know the value of students coming to school ready to learn, feeling cared for, safe and valued. When students are encouraged to develop their unique gifts and pursue their unique interests, they can thrive. I will continue to encourage our district to implement programs that support ALL students’ well being.
Maximize Resources
As a member of the board of education, I don’t take it lightly that part of my role is stewarding our community’s resources. You have supported significant resources for our district and I am committed to ensure that those dollars align with the strategic plan and are always directed at the best experience for our students and staff.
